Long life, high-energy density, highest safety levels – these are the standards upon which the development of Panasonic’s rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries is based. The high quality products offer a long and stabile provision of energy with a flat discharge curve. Even if they are recharged before a full discharge there is, of course, no memory effect. Typical applications for the 3.6V Li-Ion batteries are most especially portable devices such as notebooks, web pads and mobile phones as well as portable medical appliances. The prismatic models are ideal for digital cameras, the cylindrical batteries for blue tooth pencils.

Years of experience in state of the art battery technology were drawn upon in the development of the high quality Lithium-Ion battery series. With the Lithium-Ion battery series Panasonic presents high quality rechargeable batteries that meet all requirements. The batteries with exceptional long life possess a high-energy density. With a flat discharge curve they guarantee long-lasting stable power. The 3.6-volt cylindrical battery series offers a nominal capacity of 830 (CGR17500), 2,000 (CGR18650A), 2,060 (CGR18650CB) and even 2,150 (CGR18650C) milliampere hours (mAh). The prismatic batteries have a capacity of 710 (CGA523436), 810 (CGA533048A), 940 (CGA523450A), 1,035 (CGA633450A) and 1,950 (CGA103450) mAh. The undesirable memory effect is unknown to the Li-Ion models.

Panasonic puts great store on safety. Thus the Lithium-Ion packs are always delivered with an „external“ safety unit. In addition the cylindrical batteries all feature an „internal“ safety unit: PTC. If the temperature in the battery exceeds a certain level, the power is immediately cut off. It is thus impossible for the battery to overheat and the risks of melting or explosion are prevented. Should there be a malfunction of the safety unit resulting in overpressure, the safety valve in all Panasonic Lithium-Ion batteries opens and allows gas to be released. When normal pressure is reconstituted the valve closes automatically.

Despite their high performance, Lithium-Ion batteries are particularly compact in size. Due to their aluminium housing, the prismatic batteries are particularly light. This ensures that portable devices such as hand scanners and mobile phones can be made even smaller and lighter in future. The range of different-sized Lithium-Ion products allows for a multitude of applications and simplicity in incorporation design-in. In order to guarantee an optimally converted battery pack for the different applications Panasonic helps its customers starting from the choice of the right battery and safety unit right down to the other electronic and mechanical components around the battery pack.

Panasonic Lithium-Ion batteries are available immediately.
