Bluetooth™, Zigbee™ and Chirp
08.11.2004Bluetooth™, ZigBee™ and Chirp. Panasonic Industrial presents current radio modules.
Panasonic Industrial will be presenting an extended range of
radio modules at the electronica exhibition. These will include solutions for the Bluetooth™
standard as well as for the ZigBee™ system and chirp technology.
For the increasingly popular Bluetooth™ standard, Panasonic Industrial will be providing a wide range of modules both in a Class 1 version (range up to 100 metres) and in Class 2 (range up to 30 metres). The modules are optionally available with or without antenna and all comply with the current Bluetooth™ standard 1.2. All Panasonic Bluetooth™ modules on show at the exhibition are already listed or will shortly be so. This obviates the need for expensive Bluetooth™ qualification on the part of the end customer. Of particular benefit is the fact that Panasonic can even take the customer's special design requirements into account, as the modules are both developed and manufactured in Lüneburg in Lower Saxony.
Panasonic will also be presenting its absolutely new ZigBee™ ready module. Engineering samples for customers' development work are already available. As soon as the standard has been adopted, Panasonic will apply for official approval to enable certified ZigBee™ modules to be quoted including software stack.
Also new is a radio module based on the chirp technology from Nanotron Technologies. This uses the worldwide unlicensed 2.4GHz ISM band and guarantees reliable long-range communication, even under extremely difficult environmental conditions. A further advantage is the very low power consumption with a long range. Engineering samples are also available for this radio module.
